Didn’t get a chance to pause and absorb the beauty of the city during yesterday’s snowstorm?  No problem – Urban Indy has you covered.  Armed with my high powered professional Canon DSLR digital HTC Evo smartphone camera and properly dressed in a snowsuit, waterproof boots and ski googles a business suit, no gloves and dress shoes, I captured a few of my favorite places around downtown in all their snowy glory.
So grab a cup of coffee and scroll through – let us know which you like best in the comments below. Â And if you have recommendations for a good pair of snow boots I’ll take those as well.
Enjoy!
Neighborhoods
Don’t hate me if I didn’t get to your favorite historical ‘hood – I ran out of time and was only able to snap a few of Lockerbie and one in the Old Northside…
Public Art & Monuments
Honest Abe, Pan and the Pro Patria guy are just dying to be captioned, don’t you think?
Indianapolis Cultural Trail
Had to dodge the crew from Brickman to get a few of these – they were already out clearing some sections of the trail.
Although there weren’t many out mid-afternoon, I did catch a few brave souls…
Ok – you got me – that last one gives away that I was driving from spot to spot, but I definitely had to do some trudging in dress shoes to take a number of them – honest to goodness – so keep those snow boot recommendations coming!
nice photos
Reminds me of the sleigh ride scene in The Magnificent Ambersons. Would have been a better movie if they had shot it on location.
Thanks for getting out there and catching those shots. It’ll be nice to come back and find these photos come July when hopefully it’ll be nice and hot – and we can remember the record-setting winter of 12 – 13!
